Upon arrival, things kick off right away. Dairy farmer Pier Jan puts the influencers straight to work shoveling manure, and if that wasn't bad enough, they'll also have to sleep in a hay barn for the next few days. In the countryside, you eat what's on the table. But while cooking with the locals, tensions within the group flare up almost immediately. And that leads to a fiery first elimination.

After the first influencer has been sent home, it's straight back to hard work on the dairy farm. And that hard work isn't for everyone, especially when you have to get up at six in the morning. Luckily, there's also room for some countryside fun. The influencers dive into an ancient Frisian tradition: fierljeppen, with hilarious results.

The group is thinning out and the tension is palpable. They can leave the smell of manure behind and go to Urk, with a layover in Harlingen. It's not just the smell of fish they find unpleasant - the atmosphere also hits an all-time low, with one even threatening to quit the game. Will Sunday bring some peace? And will Urk's deeply religious community approve of the influencers' fashion choices?

Sunday has left the influencers overwhelmed. What will the new week in Urk bring them, besides an abundance of fish? The 'fish-fluencers' are hit with a big surprise, which some handle better than others. Alongside the heavy and often dirty work, there's another countryside tradition with a special prize up for grabs. This coveted reward will raise the stakes for the next elimination...

From fish to pigs, and that takes some getting used to. Because which smell is worse for city influencers? After sleeping on a ship, they're back to sleeping in a barn. Farmer Erik's assignments prove to be challenging and one participant struggles with the pigs for personal reasons. Upon arrival, the influencers are immediately confronted with an unexpected challenge: they have to start working on an ostrich farm. As if that weren't enough, they have to spend the night in one large army tent, which they also have to pitch themselves—a situation that guarantees tension. The escalating argument that follows causes one of the participants to consider leaving the program early. This incident gives the first elimination a completely unexpected and remarkable twist.

After the first elimination, the group faces a new ordeal: the harsh, salty existence of oyster fishermen and mussel harvesters. The penetrating smell is barely bearable, the work is heavy and unforgiving, and the night in the harbor offers little to no comfort. Only the intriguing golden mussel offers a glimmer of hope, but simultaneously arouses a considerable degree of distrust.

Influencers trade the smell of fish for rural life at an organic farm. However, there is no peace and quiet when a scarecrow in the yard seems to unexpectedly come to life. In the early morning hours, vegetables are harvested, followed by physically demanding labor, literally alongside water buffaloes. Fortunately, an afternoon filled with line dancing offers much-needed relaxation and ensures a refreshing night's sleep for the eventual winner.

The group is shrinking, and with the departure of yet another influencer, a promising farmer romance also falls apart. The tension is palpable, as everyone is immensely annoyed by one participant who would rather complain than roll up their sleeves, and this escalates rapidly. When a traditional game of clog throwing is on the program, the already stifling atmosphere turns into a true explosion of emotions.

In the fifth episode of Hakken over de Sloot, various influencers compete against each other in an exciting battle for the coveted golden paycheck. The exact meaning and value of this mysterious prize remain unclear to everyone, which only adds to the intrigue and speculation. It is precisely this uncertainty that causes the eventual winner to suddenly find themselves surrounded by a large number of new ‘friends’ all hoping to benefit from the success. It promises to be an episode full of suspense, surprises, and social dynamics.

Now that the influencers have passed the halfway point of the competition, tensions are noticeably rising. The question arises as to who is following the rules and who is willing to cheat. In an attempt to survive the ruthless eliminations, strategic alliances are being formed. However, the situation escalates when the group discovers that a double agent has been operating in their midst all along. This shocking betrayal puts the dynamics on edge and casts a shadow over the remainder of the game. The consequences for trust, strategy, and chances of survival are far-reaching and inevitable.

After the commotion among the turkeys, the penultimate challenge for the influencers is on the agenda: a visit to a pig farm in Gelderland. With their boots sunk deep into the mud, the mood changes when one participant adamantly refuses to contribute. The question arises whether a playful, equestrian event can ease the tensions between them, or whether the damage sustained at the farm is already irreparable.

The once-large group of influencers has shrunk considerably. After weeks filled with mud, sweat, and inevitable drama, the remaining contestants find themselves on the eve of the grand finale. For their final meal, they are given the chance to prepare it entirely themselves, although this process is far from flawless. Ultimately, however, it comes down to one all-important question: who will be crowned the winner of Hakken over de Sloot?

Over time, the influencers come together again during this reunion, where we discover how they have fared since their extraordinary adventure with various farmers and other agricultural enterprises. This retrospective reveals which experiences have stayed with them, what new insights they have gained, and how their lives and careers have developed since then. It offers an interesting behind-the-scenes look at their interactions with the agricultural sector and reveals the personal growth they have undergone since that memorable visit.
